daemon removal

Question

Motion works perfect on Ubuntu 14.04 but I messed up something and want therefore to remove motion completely and start the installation again from scratch. I removed motion via the software center but the daemon motion remains present. I checked this via the terminal by

ls -l /etc/init.d/

My question is how to remove the daemon. I installed Motion according your instructions via the Ubuntu Software-Center.

In the file motion.conf I edited the line to deamon on:

# Start in daemon (background) mode and release terminal (default: off)

daemon on

Then I started motion with sudo service motion start

Probably this is the reason why the daemon remains present. I edited back to daemon off and tried again to remove but no luck.

Can you please help me how to remove the daemon motion?
